The Gardner Marks Foundation

We are a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization comprised of friends and family of Gardner Marks, a New York native whose life was tragically cut short by Leukemia in 2013 at age 22.

Gardner’s unwavering positive attitude helped us to realize the true impact that a strong support network can have in maintaining a patient’s mental health and financial well being even while enduring physical suffering.

During his struggle, Gardner witnessed many other young adults with less resources than him. He often expressed the desire to help those kids and families when he was cured.

In the aftermath of Gardner’s passing, we have banded together with the goal of using his experience as an archetype for the level of support and treatment that every patient of adolescent / pediatric cancer deserves. We seek to use events like this for two key purposes:

  1. Raise funds towards our stated mission of helping patients and their families discover their network of support and manage ancillary difficulties in the treatment process
  2. Celebrate Gardner’s life and his achievements
